Body Activated Material (BAM) Technology
This is where the 4D gets its name. IDA’s Lucitone® Print Digital Dentures feature smart polymer technology that permits the finished denture to immediately respond to body temperature.
This not only amplifies the material’s properties, but allows the denture to actually harden in the mouth, which ensures an incredible fit and extremely durable product.
Prescribing Lucitone® Print Digital Dentures
Lucitone® Print Digital Dentures can be prescribed with either traditional or digital impressions.
Traditional Impression Technique
Consultation and Preliminary Impression
- Take upper and lower preliminary impressions using your preferred initial impression tray and established office practices.
- Confirm impressions have all major anatomical landmarks and pressure spots. Repeat the process if needed.
- Send impressions to IDA, where we will fabricate custom trays and occlusal rims.
Custom Tray Impression
- After receipt of the custom trays and occlusal rims from IDA, the second appointment occurs. For correct digital design, adhere to the following process completely.
- You will need:
– Laboratory Custom Tray
– Tray Adhesive
– 3 Impression Materials: Rigid/Heavy Body, Medium Body, and Low Viscosity (substitution of these materials may yield inadequate results)
– Handpiece/Carbide for Relieving Tray - Before Appointment:
– If applicable, request that the patient avoid wearing dentures for 48 hours prior to appointment. This allows for proper tissue conditioning before final impressions. - During Appointment:
– Inspect the patient’s mouth to guarantee it is clean and free of all materials, especially denture adhesive.
– Apply tray adhesive to the borders of the custom tray and then the heavy body border molding impression material.
– Insert tray into patient’s mouth and perform border movements. Inspect tray for quality and correct pressure spots by relieving the tray material with a carbide bur if necessary.
– Reapply tray adhesive to remaining surfaces of the custom tray. Express medium body impression material up to the borders. Insert tray into patient’s mouth. Hold according to manufacturer’s instructions.
– Finally, confirm impressions have all major anatomical landmarks and pressure spots. If necessary, correct any exposures with low viscosity impression.
